Volunteer at PWHS
Our Community Thrives When We All Volunteer.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are so many ways to get involved and help our community, whether you volunteer as a class parent or chaperone; bake for an event or give your time at a C.A.R.E. work party. We welcome “many hands” every day. To support your interest in volunteering outside of classroom opportunities, we offer two volunteer programs.
The Parent Ambassador Program is designed to harness the diverse talents and passions of our parent/caregiver body to support various facets of school life, while embodying the core values of Waldorf education.
Read the 2024 Development Back To School Letter and visit the Program Overview to learn more about the Ambassador roles, Benefits of Participation, and sign up instructions.
The Parent Association is a volunteer group that brings together at least two Parent Representatives per class and the Portland Waldorf High School Administration members. Meetings occur monthly, usually the first Monday. All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.
The mission of the Parent Association is to:
Enhance community life
Improve communication among faculty, administration, and parents
Promote the school’s cultural mission as defined by the College of Teachers
For questions or to join, email us or contact your child’s class teacher.
We know that many hands make light work, and coming together with other families to support special projects strengthens the school culture.
Portland Waldorf High School encourages every parent, caregiver, student and community member to get involved as a volunteer.
